Meet Ariel Nochez, a junior TRIO Scholar pursuing a double major in Data Science and Linguistics and a minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences.

He is currently involved with the Taylor Family Center as a TRIO Peer Mentor and as a TRIO Computer Science Clinic Peer Tutor.

This past summer, Ariel participated in the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) at Cornell University where he will be doing computational psycholinguistics research for nine weeks.

Ariel’s words of wisdom for the TFCSS students are the following:

“Through this process I was rejected from about 12-15 other research programs. It really only takes one! Don’t give up and don’t let some failures hinder you from continuing to try. It’ll work out!“
