Justin Barton brings more than two decades of experience in higher education to his role as Assistant Director for the Taylor Family Center for Student Success at Washington University in St. Louis, where he is dedicated to empowering students who are first in their families to attend college, come from limited-income backgrounds or are underrepresented in higher education.
Throughout his career, Justin has held leadership positions in international student engagement, first-year experience programs, career services and athletics, cultivating a deep understanding of student development and success. His broad professional background enables him to connect authentically with students from diverse experiences and to design initiatives that foster belonging, resilience and personal growth both inside and outside the classroom.
Justin earned a Master of Science in Administration (Marketing) from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications (Public Relations emphasis) from Southeast Missouri State University. He is also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach and a USA Cheer–certified coach, reflecting his ongoing commitment to leadership, motivation, and holistic student success.
