Kayla Harrison serves WashU students as the Student Success Fund Coordinator. She is a St. Louis native who is also proud to call Plano, Texas her second home. She is a University of Missouri – St. Louis alumna who previously served as a teaching fellow and 5th Grade Writing Teacher at KIPP in the Bay Area.

After working with education-focused non-profits in St. Louis, she decided to expand her passion to a larger group of students. Coming to the realization that many underrepresented students lack a positive, successful representation of themselves in either their personal lives or the media, Kayla has been instrumental in helping to change that concept.

When she’s not reading, Kayla is either writing, doing yoga, playing with her pup, or laughing with her friends.
