TRIO Scholars should get to know and take advantage of the resources offered by the following campus offices.
Student Financial Services
The Student Financial Services (SFS) office is committed to helping TRIO Scholars obtain the necessary financial resources needed to be successful while also striving to help minimize financial barriers and the need for loans.
Each TRIO Scholar is assigned a SFS counselor that will help them navigate the financial aid process and answer questions regarding their financial aid award. Their office is located in Sumers Welcome Center.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an important component in helping determine students’ eligibility for the TRIO program as well as other federal grants, loans, and work-study programs.
Scholars must complete a FAFSA each year to help identify appropriate financial assistance for maintaining their success and enrollment at WashU.
The Learning Center
The Center for Teaching and Learning )CTL)offers a wide range of academic support and tutoring services to all students. TRIO scholars are highly encouraged to utilize this resource early and often in an effort to maximize their academic pursuits.
Scholars will also work with their TRIO advisors to strategically incorporate these services into their yearly academic plan! The Learning Center is located on the lower level of Mallinckrodt Center.
Disability Resources
The TRIO SSS program also partners with Disability Resources (DR) to provide support and accommodations for our scholars with disabilities. Scholars with disabilities or suspected disabilities are encouraged to visit to assess their needs and determine their eligibility to receive services.
Disability Resources offers services that include academic accommodations, assistive technologies and other resources tailored to meet individual needs.
